Ask Me Anything: Round Three (Session Closed)

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! I just realized a while ago that every year on Valentine’s Day is the day that the Sun in Aquarius is conjunct my North Node to the exact degree. It must be why I never feel salty or depressed whenever I’m single on Valentine’s Day (which is happening again this year). It always feels like a really meaningful day, regardless. My 1st House Aquarius North Node is just always there to say, “Don’t worry about being a weirdo for being single. You’re supposed to be a weirdo and an independent one, at that. Besides, you have too many new projects to start.” And I actually am usually experimenting with something new, around this time, that ends up defining the rest of my year.

All of that is to say that you should figure out the day, every year, that the Sun is exactly conjunct your North Node. This will be a very meaningful day for you; a time where you can either get on the right track spiritually or feel rewarded or satisfied for striving to become more evolved or enlightened. And it can set the stage for the next 365 days. Since you have to wait a whole 18 years for your North Node to return, I’d say that this day of the year holds great significance because it gives you a chance, on a regular basis, to get or remain in touch with that higher self of yours.

So, to celebrate this special day for me, I wanted to do the third Ask Me Anything session. You know how it goes: feel free to ask anything but keep it respectful.

The session is now closed. But, as always, it's been great talking to you guys. I feel like I answered every one's questions but if there is someone I didn't get to, I apologize. It's not you. My Mercury trine Neptune brain is feeling more deliriously loaded with information than usual lately. Thanks, everyone, and keep reading!

  1. Happy Valentines Day!!
I feel so lucky! :D I've been waiting forever for this oportunity. :)
Could you please help me out on two things?

What would you say about my capricorn stellium (any talent in this combination) in 1st house (moon, uranus rx, neptune rx conjunct asc)?

Second. I have saturn chart ruler in 1st house as apex of two fixed t-squares saturn-mercury/venus- pluto. I don;t know what are the saturnian lessons and I am trying to prepare for it before saturn return hits..I don;t identify much with the aquarius sign of my saturn.

    Thank you so,so much!

    1. I hope my 2nd question doesn;t sound exhausting and I am not asking for a whole chart reading, hehe but a more general perspective/advice. Saturn's lessons are important to me...(just to have a broader picture, my venus/mercury is in 4th. pluto in 10th. That's the complete T-square.)

&I like the mention of the North Node. :) Mine is in capricorn.

    2. Hey, yes, I remember you wanted to know about that part of your chart!

I think you appear to be very sensitive, unique, and kind of from another planet (in a good way). Neptune rising in Capricorn definitely gives you an old-soul quality. You take life seriously yet can hide that seriousness behind whatever you choose to project. For you, life is like a dream and it's also highly unpredictable (Uranus) and something that needs to make you safe and comfortable (Moon). I'd say there is a talent for responding to others, finding common ground with others, and just being very imaginative and psychic here.

With your second question, I think a person's Saturn's house will be felt more personally and strongly than their Saturn sign. So, it makes sense that you might not resonate too much with Aquarius Saturn. But, it is still your Saturn sign, so the lessons you're preparing for involve understanding how to make a difference, be the change you want to see in society, and go against the grain in responsible ways.

With Saturn in the 1st House, you will express all of that by playing the part of the authoritative, mature, or disciplined person. The 1st House is about putting yourself out there and taking on challenges. So, a 1st House Saturn brings a really deep fear of putting yourself out there because you feel like you might fail and then become a misunderstood freak or outcast (Aquarius). Therefore, what you are learning is how to take risks with maturity. You have to be able to go out on a limb yet do so with an attitude that trusts that you can always get back up, no matter how hard you fall or how many times you fall.

So, with Saturn in the 1st, you're simply strengthening your ability to make the necessary moves to live a successful life. And with the 1st House Saturn in Aquarius, this success will be defined by how willing you are to defy people's expectations and break the rules some but for a higher cause.

    3. Thank you very much! I am actually shocked that you remembered. Neptune can dissipate my person(ality) so much, that often people around ''forget'' about me.

You are so on-point. Rebel With a cause. I will keep this in mind.
Ok, this is cheeky, but can you please, tell me something about Capricorn NN in 12th? This always was so fascinating, since this sign is about structure, and 12th is about lack of structure.
This makes for 3 lucky charms. :) I saw now that we;re allowed 4 questions. But 3 was always so good to me that I promise this is the last one.
      Thank you!
      & Have a great day!

    4. I think it's about finding structure within the spiritual or the realm of the imagination. You have to discipline yourself to learn how to go with the flow, surrender, and access the unconscious.

  3. What's the difference btwn Venus conjunct North Node and South Node in 7th?

    I have:
-Sagittarius NN in 1st, conjunct Sagittarius Venus in 2nd
-Gemini SN in 7th, conjunct Gemini Moon in 7th

    1. You're cultivating the ability to love yourself and others in a healthy way. You are already a very loving, very relationship-oriented person, with a 7th House South Node. But, things easily get unbalanced in these relationships. So, Venus on the North Node is showing you how to have more balanced, truly satisfying relationships with others.

  4. Honestly, having a sixth house Saturn is terrifying. You go through the "daily grind" scared and frightened of reality. And being a 6th house Saturn in Taurus Indvidual, I can attest. But, honestly I believe that Saturn in sixth house individuals are prepared for the reality more than anyone. Because, its been apart of their daily life since birth. Having to be prepared for anything. But, now that I think about it, Saturn doesn't joy in the sixth, although it does in the twelfth. Which makes sense. So, could you explain the polarity between a sixth and twelfth house Saturn in your Marvelous examples, as always. Or, just give your thoughts. ;)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think a 6th House Saturn person would be, as you said, scared of getting stuck in the regular, humdrum, boring things of life. Terrified of becoming that workaholic who can never take a day off. Scared of being unable to go on vacation, to have to diet and think about their health. It's sort of like Saturn in the 6th House people think they're going to be Cinderella, stuck in an abusive cycle of chores and gruntwork, unable to go to the ball.

But, you guys have to face your fears by understanding that maturity means being able to manage your time and accept the regularity of life. Everything has a practical rhythm to it. It's by accepting these practicalities, without feeling like they're going to crush your spirit or make life painfully dull, that you will be able to conquer your fears and doubts. Then, you'll find succeed by being that person who knows how to really take command of their schedule, their routine, and their health, in ways that make you neither procrastinating or obsessive-compulsive.

Also, you have to remember that the 6th House also rules your thoughts but in the way that your thoughts affect your body: the mind-body link. So, you have to work on any negative thinking as it can affect you on deeply physical levels, more than most people. But, when you know this, you can really master the mind-body connection.

Meanwhile, we Saturn in the 12th House people are just batshit crazy. :) Hahah, just kidding. Kind of. But, it is a very different placement because we don't necessarily fear reality. I think we fear the uncontrollable, unexplainable things in life, which actually make up a portion of reality. Perception is reality. So, it can seem like we're running from what's real, sometimes, but we're actually running from what we can't control. And that's our issue to overcome, while Saturn in the 6th House people are overcoming being afraid of what they actually can control, of being controlled by controlled forces, if you will.

  5. Your articles are gorgeous and so insightful! I was hoping to hear your thoughts on how seemingly contradictory energies between the 1st and 7th houses manifest. My Ascendant is in Scorpio, conjunct my Pluto in Scorpio (1st house), and my Jupiter in Sagittarius is also in the 1st house. My Sun (conjunct Lilith), Mercury, and Venus (opposite Pluto) are all in the 7th house in Gemini. I've read all of your articles, and basically anything else I could find, and feel that I understand all of these pieces of myself individually, but when I try to look at the bigger picture, things get...blurry. I'd so appreciate it if you could shed some light on this, especially since you seem to have such a deep understanding of the 7th house. You're seriously the only astrologer I've come across that doesn't paint 7th house suns as the ultimate mark of co-dependency!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thank you! No, of course we're not hopelessly co-dependent. I like to think of Sun in the 7th as just having confidence in being able to be a great spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, or best friend. In that way, relationships do define us but it doesn't have to make us pathetic. Haha, it's just that we come alive through relating to and influencing others.

That's basically the polarity between the 1st and the 7th. Whatever's in the 1st is how you deal with yourself and go your own way, while the 7th is how you relate to others.

On one hand, Pluto and Jupiter in the 1st, as well as Scorpio Rising, means that you go your own way through being passionate, intense, free, and adventurous. But, you are constantly being pulled back to connections with others, through having the Sun, Mercury, and Venus in the 7th, that allow an exchange of confidence, intelligence, and affection to take place.

So, that's what's always going on. Your first move is to be a detective and an explorer. Yet, you are constantly reminded of your true self, your intellectual side, and your values through your connection to other people. Hope that helps!

    1. Should I look the progressed chart for transits?
    2. I am having saturn in the first house transit. i read your saturn sag article, very helpful. do you have any recommendations for this saturn transit in sag 1st house person?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I actually don't work with progressions, believe it or not. I've never even looked up my own progressed chart! It's a theory I've never been interested in. I just think the "progression" is in your hands, basically. Just work with whatever's going on in your birth chart and transit chart. It's your choice what to do with it. :)

And is this your Saturn Return or are you just having Saturn transiting the 1st House? Either way, as I said to a poster before you, it's about learning how to overcome doubts and fears regarding putting yourself out there. Develop the strength to take risks and go out on a limb. You have to be willing to fall on your face during this transit, only to get up again. In the words of Aaliyah, "If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again."

And that goes for just about any endeavor, whether it's a big project, meeting new people, changing your look, whatever. Just take charge and be a boss. Don't surrender to fear. And since it's in Sagittarius, your beliefs are going to be challenged and strengthened, in the process. You can develop a stronger faith and the ability to free yourself through this courage.

  7. Hi Wayman! Happy Valentine’s Day! ^^
First of all I have to tell you that I love your blog! I am a huge fan from Argentina haha. Keep up the awesome work :)
Also I really appreciate you doing this again.
Well I just wanted to ask you What does mean having Saturn in Aquarius in the 3rd house square Pluto in Scorpio in the 11th house? Is it a really bad aspect? I think that both aspects make me a very isolated person sometimes. Also I have Sun and Mercury in Virgo in the 9th house, how would you describe a person with this placement?
And the last question is how can I interpret duplicated signs in the natal chart? I have aquarius-leo duplicated. Aquarius is in the 2nd and 3rd house and Leo is on the cusp of the 8th and 9th house.
Thanks and sorry for my bad english. TwT

    1. Hello and thanks! Glad you enjoy the blog. :)

As far as your first question goes, I'll give you a more condensed version. You have two planets with control issues in the social houses and they're square each other. I think this does show a certain social awkwardness. Your Saturn can beat you up mentally and make you feel like unintelligent and like a freak, while your Pluto has this very naughty obsession with pushing people's buttons and thriving off the chaos.

So, it's no surprise that you will feel isolated. On one hand, you're so scared that you'll be rejected. On the other hand, you may stir up a storm that causes you to be rejected. Sometimes, people can self-sabotage like that because it's the only way they can feel in control. So, I would just tell you to watch out for that. If you do, you can transform yourself, maturing into a very serious, very advanced thinker with an incredible influence in group settings and an ability to be brilliantly resourceful.

Your Virgo Sun is doubled through its conjunction to Mercury. You are highly observant, sharp, quick-witted, and articulate. With these planets in the 9th, you can easily become self-righteous about your critiques because you believe in them so much. But, you can also provide constructive criticisms that inspire others and even bring out their enthusiasm. You're a free spirit but still know exactly where you're going.

And I actually haven't given duplicated signs much thought yet. I don't like talking about something astrologically until I've really thought it over. So, I'll have to get back to you on that one. ;)

    1. Wasn't this your question last time? Are you still torn between the two Rising signs?

Pay attention to what people think when they first meet you. Do they say that they think you're really fun and outgoing and confident (Leo) or do they get the sense that you're modest, low-key, or really smart (Virgo)?

But, without a birth time, there's no totally surefire way to tell, because you sometimes may have to factor in aspects from other planets to the Ascendant. It's just about making very educated guesses.

  11. My moon in Pisces is conjunct my saturn in Pisces at. 1.40 orb. I'm aware that moon conjunct saturn does grant its holder with ambition. With saturn being in a watery , emotional sign such as Pisces , does that weaken the ambition and the drive this conjunction is suppose to give me ?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hmmm, I could've sworn you asked that last time! But, don't think in terms of weakness. Your ambitions are just being directed toward Pisces things, which may not be totally "worldly" or "practical" but are still of substance and purpose. With Saturn in Pisces, you're supposed to be disciplining yourself toward these spiritual, imaginative things anyway.

  12. Hi,thank you for writing a beautiful article on North Node in Pisces. What is your thought if my NN Pisces is in the 8th house?

Also, I have my Sun in Aquarius and is in the 7th house with a Leo rising. What do you think as these 2 signs are in opposition?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You're welcome! I think it's a lovely sign to have the North Node in. With it being in the 8th House in your chart, things go even deeper. It can be a really scary process for you to embrace your higher self because it means radically letting go, on multiple levels. But, you will achieve a magical kind of transformation of the self when you do.

And that's very interesting that your 7th House Sun in Aquarius rules your chart. In many ways, you will not be as showy or as self-absorbed as the stereotypical Leo Rising (even though many are not to begin with). You live your life by seeing yourself as an awesome friend and partner. But, this is where may become self-absorbed, especially since you may sometimes get a bit too demanding (Leo Rising) about the freedom you want in relationships (Aquarius Sun in the 7th).

Yet, you probably won't be demanding by having a temper tantrum or causing a scene. You'll just become totally defiant and do your own thing until the equilibrium you want in relationships is established again and the other person acts accordingly. So, you're often the boss of other people just by being nonchalant and driving them crazy until they give in, haha. But, of course, don't go to extremes with that.

    2. I see! I am fascinated by the 8th house, I hope you will consider writing an article about it in the future.

I have just read your article on those who were born in 1989 with a saturn, uranus and neptune conjunct in capricorn. I really enjoyed it as I too was born in 1989! What are your thoughts as I have these 3 planets in the 6th house?

And I have a Scorpio moon in the 3rd house and sometimes I find myself having difficulties expressing my deep feelings. Is it because of my hard aspect of my sun and the rising sign?

Thank you for the Ask me anything session!

  13. Dear Wayman,

If a transit affects our progressed chart, and then affects our natal chart later, is the impact on the natal lessened? Or sensitized? I had transit Pluto conjunct progressed Saturn. Now that has backed off, the orb is over 2 degrees. Transit Pluto is now conjunct natal Saturn, the ruler of my 6th house. This will be a long transit, and I gotta say I'm worried about these two powerhouse planets duking it out. Happy V-Day everyone. And thanks, Wayman.

    1. Oh, sorry, I really don't work with progressions! I'm at the tail-end of transiting Pluto conjunct my natal Saturn, though. I won't lie. It hasn't been smooth sailing but it's been amazing for me. What house is Saturn in? Expect it to be impacted hugely. I hate to sound fatalistic but it's going to bring out your Saturn's worst fears and doubts, regarding the house's interests and issues. But, it's a time of almost ruthlessly, relentlessly facing those fears, so you can become stronger and more self-sufficient than ever.

It'll be scary but then you'll look back and you'll realize that the things you were scared of aren't so scary after all. So, a deeply empowering time, if you make the most of it.

  14. Wow, I think it's very cool that you're single and have such a positive mindset during Valentines day. Not many pf us single pringles are able to do that, even me. Whatever new project you're planning, I hope it goes well! And speakin of north node/sun transits, my north node falls in 6 degrees Libra in my 3rd house. As everyone knows, this is usually the time when school starts back up, and since the early school years are a big part of the 3rd house, this would make sense in my case. It seemed like everytime a new school year started, I would always reinvent myself in someway and be a completely different person and start fresh. I don't know if any of this makes sense but I was reading your paragraph about whenever the transiting sun conjuncts your north node, and it kind of reminded me of how I feel whenever the same happens to me. :) :p
Anyway, as for questions, what do you think uranus transiting the midheaven would mean because this is currently happening in my chart right now. I know the midheaven represents your career and public image and everything but I'm still very young, fresh out of high school and currently am in the process of going out on my own and have no career. So in the heck would uranus on my ascendant apply to me?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I meant uranus on my midheaven. Whoops. What can I say, I type way too fast sometimes.

      Delete
    2. Thank you, Alyssa! Yes, I do think there's something to this whole theory. I think it's just a very good time for you, whenever the Sun hits your North Node, in some way or another. I might have to write an article about that soon! :)

But, yes, Uranus is turning your Midheaven upside down. It's funny because it's my theory that people really focus on their Midheaven once they leave high school. You start becoming highly aware of it during the high school years, around 15 or 16, but it's not until you get out into the world that I think you start becoming preoccupied with it.

So, with you, thanks to lightning-quick Uranus, that process is really being sped up. I think you're feeling this huge breakthrough of ideas and everything in terms of what you want to do with your life. Since you have the Midheaven in Aries, your way to success is already impulsive. But, you are feeling even more impulsive now about going after success and carving out that public image.

So, it's definitely going to apply to you. Don't think that you have to have a well-established career to relate to the Midheaven. Since the Midheaven is about life goals, it's about all the steps you take toward that career, which starts at the phase you're at now. Also, it's your goals in life, in general; not just career-wise. As an Aries MC, you want to be seen as that bad-ass go-getter by the world, in everything you do. Even when you're just out in public with your friends or something. So, Uranus is compelling you to go against the grain, and maybe break some rules here and there, to do so. Just don't get yourself in too much trouble. :)

  16. First of all, thank you for doing this. I'm going to look into that north node conjunction when the sun hits taurus. I know I already feel the moon heavily at different times.

My questions are: I have my moon and mars in Pisces and my Venus in Aquarius in
the eight house, what sort of energy does that inspire? Also, Pluto in the fourth house and Pluto square my ascendant, which is Leo (my natal sun, Capricorn, is in the sixth house)? I also have that Taurus north node in my 11th house with a retrograde Chiron in Gemini- what sort of energy can that be? And finally, since I'm a Capricorn the Jupiter sextile Saturn aspect stands out to me, can you tell me about that? Thank you!

    1. Hey, tacita. I can't possibly interpret all of those placements in one comment, so I'll just be general here.

I can see that you're a person with a lot of emotional depth and who has this huge yearning to find a soul mate and engage in a very passionate romance. But, that can bring a lot of drama, chaos, and confusion into your life. So, you have to become more level-headed and objective first (Taurus NN in the 11th), which will allow you to see the bigger picture in a more common sense, peaceful way.

You're also healing wounds that have to do with your communication skills and intelligence; possibly some bad experiences with schooling that have tainted your ideas about learning. So, that's the pain you have to work through. Also, Jupiter sextile Saturn means that you are learning how to be realistic about your possibilities. Believe in good luck but remember that you have to work for it, as well.

Your relationships are going to involve both sensitivity and a feeling of competition. You're going to be supportive and aggressive toward the people close to you, who will also be supportive and aggressive, in order for you both to become better people. I think the trines from Uranus and Neptune will bring a feeling of experimentation and imagination into the relationships.

    1. Hey. Thanks for reading! I would say that everything, except for your 1st House Aries Mars, speaks to selflessness, empowerment of others, and generosity toward others. In many ways, you will find fulfillment, purpose, and even your own power through uplifting, healing, and inspiring other people. Yet, the 1st House Aries Mars does bring some selfishness. It's good, though, especially as a Pisces Rising with Saturn in the 12th, because it'd be all too easy for you to get lost and forget yourself and your boundaries without such a strong Mars.

  23. Hi Wayman,
thanks for another round of "ask me anything", I missed the last one and had been waiting for another. I want to start by saying that I absolutely admire your work, this blog is a real authority in the field. I wish all the best for you.
Now to the question: well, I don't even know if I'm right, but I read that Saturn transits can play a number on relationships and our sense of solitude. Saturn is opposing my natal Venus in taurus right now and I broke up with my boyfriend of 6 years since I moved to Paris for studying and he stayed in Italy. I'm also having a hard time making friends here and overall I've had to face a new sense of loneliness that I had never experienced before. I've always had friends and boyfriends to fill up my days and have tons of fun with. But since I moved here I've started feeling completely detached and downright alienated from everyone and everything. I'd like to think that this is not me, although it could very well be, since my heart isn't here and I miss Italy so much. I'm also experiencing a new and horrible insecurity towards the way i look. So to "fix" things I started working out again, which I found out helps in cases of extreme loneliness (a run in the park is a good way to reconnect with ourselves).
At the same time, I feel more and more hungry for intense, deep relationships that matter (Pluto transit trine my moon?). As soon as I smell petty people or simply something superficial I feel the urge to take a step back and look elsewhere. In that sense, I'd rather be alone that surround myself with fake love.
When are things going to get better? :(
I'm an Aries sun, Pisces moon, Taurus venus, Sag ascendant.
Thank you for reading, good luck with everything.

    1. Thank you! But, how exactly is Saturn opposite your Venus now, if it's in Taurus? Even if you have a really late degree Taurus Venus, Sagittarius Saturn is too far away right now to be opposing it. I'm thinking that the opposition must have happened near the end of Saturn in Scorpio and continued into the early degrees of Saturn in Sagittarius.

What you're feeling now might just be the fall-out of that transit. Also, it's looking like you have Saturn transiting your 1st House. That might be the real culprit here. Your outlook on life may be isolating you and making you feel full of doubt or worry. Starting a new chapter by moving to a foreign land yet feeling difficulty because of it is also really symbolized by this transit (also the insecurities about your appearance - 1st House).

What I will just tell you is that, above and beyond astrology, your attitude determines your altitude. I think that's very much a Saturn in the 1st House lesson. If you keep seeing these experiences as so horrible, they will be. Instead, take them on as challenges and opportunities to grow as a person (Sagittarius). Then, you may find yourself empowered by this transit. :)

    2. Good day Wayman!
Thank you for your answer :) Yes, my Venus is in a very late degree in the sign of Taurus and astro.com pointed out that transit, so I thought Saturn in Sag might still be affecting my Venus. But you're probably right about it being a fall-out of the previous transit).
I definitely agree about the positive attitude: I'll try my best to see the good in this move, for example the opportunity to learn a new language, the possibilities offered by a big city like Paris etc... I'm usually optimistic, I guess I got wrapped up in my complaints :)
Just one more question: besides trying to have a positive and grateful outlook on the situation, is there something else I can do to live the transit up to its fullest meaning? What else does the transit teach that I may be overlooking? ... I'm all about a good challenge.
By the way, yes Saturn is now transiting through my 1st house. My Sun is in Aries (29'33"), so perhaps there will be a moment where the trine is going to amplify this personal/emotional growth?

      Thank you again very much,
      wish you the best.

    3. Well, with Saturn transiting your 1st, you have a chance to embark on a new beginning in a very mature, responsible way. Now is the time to start a new chapter and feel like the adult that you want to be. I don't know what sign your Saturn is in. But, if you haven't embarked on your Saturn Return yet, this can be a wonderful preparation for it. If you have, this transit may only strengthen those lessons you've learned. Hope that helps. :)

  24. Hi!I wanted to ask about your thoughts on yods (i have 2 of them X|) and also in a general way,how can I handle a mc(Pisces) exact opposite north node (Virgo)...because my career path option keep straddling between mystics and hard sciences and I hardly can find anything "in-between" except maybe astrology... To make matters tricky...both points are roughly square my pluto...please help...thanks :)

    Replies
    1. I'm pretty ignorant on yods, sorry. But, I will say that your Virgo North Node conjunct the Nadir wants you to find a foundation and a home within self-discipline and being practical. I think you should enter into a more "mystical" career because you have a Pisces Midheaven and with the South Node there, being spiritual or imaginative is an innate talent of yours.

However, you just have to focus more on creating a private life for yourself that keeps you clear-headed, organized, and practical. Then, you will be able to retreat into this atmosphere, day in and day out, and feel recharged enough to go out into the world and be that mystic. That's the fine line that I think you have to walk.

The answer stirred my soul as I read it...I just realized that I have written "maybe astrology" whereas I wanted to write psychology...do you think its a "mystical" choice ?.. Also does having Venus exact conjunct north node and mercury 2 degrees from the north node change the equation somewhat ?(also the north node is less than a degree away from ic but is actually in the 3rd house)...thanks again !!

  25. hi, i'll wanted t oask you about KITE in astrology and can you give me your thougts about mine
akite with a water grand trine with sun in cancer in 2 house , moon in pisces in 10 house , pluto in scorpio in 6th house

and the focus is neptune in capricorn in 8 house

    thank you

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi. My limited understanding of the kite is that it's basically like a Grand Trine with some grounding. Because Grand Trines, as lovely as they are, can get excessive and extreme. With a Grand Trine in Water, you are wonderfully sensitive, intuitive, and perceptive. Yet, you might find yourself becoming highly needy, insecure, or irrational because of these traits, as well.

But, having Neptune in Capricorn can bring that grounding. It's like the string you hold on to in order to not fly off. It might sound funny to think of Neptune in that way, especially with it being in the watery 8th. It may be harder for you to "hold on". But, Neptune being in Capricorn brings some good sense here, even when it gets spacey or overwhelmed. It's an energy that can blend fantasy and ambition, achieving the wildest dreams through sheer hard work. So, keeping one foot in reality is what will allow you to balance out some of that super-watery energy.

  27. Happy late valentines day!! What kind of fears, delays, and restrictions will someone experience having Saturn in Aquarius in 9th house in birth chart !! Having Saturn in Aquarius I do fear being part of group or crowd I feel like I will come off as too weird

    1. Thank you! Those are definitely the fears of Aquarius Saturn people. But, with you having it in the 9th House, you also have a lot of fears regarding the responsibilities that come with freedom. It can feel hard to feel free, with this placement, as you can forever feel like you're being trapped in a cage. Yet, you might not realize that you're the one doing this, due to your hesitance to be seen as too different or to make a difference. So, becoming more mature, for you, means finding your true freedom and by doing this, you will become the rebel and the innovator that you were meant to be.

  28. How would a mars in cancer in 2nd house opposite Neptune in Capricorn 8th house aspect manifest sexually

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Mars opposite Neptune people can find themselves settling for really boring, mundane sex, just to make the partner happy, while living a sort of "double life" through stuff like compulsive fantasizing, porn-watching, etc. You get the drift. Haha, it can make the idea of sex so much better than the reality of it, which can cause a serious imbalance.

To have truly satisfying sex, you must be consciously aware of your desires and honest about them. A 2nd House Cancer Mars can lead you to stick to the status quo because you don't want to hurt your partner's feelings or lose them by asserting these desires. But, with Capricorn Neptune in the 8th, you have to be mature enough to dig deep and bring these fantasies out in the open with the other person. Then, you will experience a truly amazing bond and much more satisfying sex.

  29. Hello! Thanks for such a wonderful and informative website! Transiting Pluto question for me. I've done research on this for well over a decade and how it affected fellow Sags etc having had my own personal return from the abyss. Having survived transiting Pluto hit nearly every planet in my chart for most of my adult life [Scorpio - Uranus, Asc&Moon; Sag-Sun, Mars, Merc, Venus, Neptune]; the transit is currently opposing my singleton natal Saturn (retro) in my 9th. While I am discovering new ways to communicate effectively; I'm sure there is something more meaningful that I am not seeing with Saturn in the 9th. Thanks in advance.

    2. Hello! Pluto passing through your 3rd means that your ways of communicating and thinking are transforming. 3rd House thought is very logical and factual. Since you are becoming empowered in this rational area, maybe you will be able to find balance by experiencing less doubt in the intuitive 9th House Saturn territory. The more power you experience through simple communication, the more effective you may feel in having a strong inner compass. But, it's an opposition, so you may be veering right now from being super-rational to super-faithful until you find a middle ground.

  30. Hey Wayman! I love when you do these ask anything sessions. I have four questions. First, I was wondering about (virgo) moon and (leo) Mars in the 12th house conjunct. Second, the ruler of the 8th house cusp (Mars) in the 12th house. Third, pluto in the 3rd house and lastly, ruler of the 12th ouse cusp (leo) in the third house. Thanks!

    1. Hi, sorry for getting to you late!

I think the Moon-Mars conjunction in the 12th is going to give you a very empathetic desire for fight for other people in a selfless way. You can act as a caring spiritual guide for others by giving them the motivation they need to make their dreams come true.

The ruler of the 8th in the 12th shows that the process of being intimate, exploring your dark side, and working out your issues can be confusing or overwhelming yet also lead to great transcendence and compassion for others.

Pluto in the 3rd, to be brief, is a very incisive way of giving and receiving information. There's an intense relationship with a sibling in your life (or someone who feels like a brother or sister) that taught you how to obsessively, deeply dive into information. Leave no stone unturned. You can communicate like a counselor or a detective. It brings a "flip side" to you that can be highly paranoid or suspicious. You may also make a very nosy neighbor even though you'd absolutely hate for your neighbor to snoop in your business.

And the ruler of the 12th House in the 3rd House indicates that your ability to communicate and comprehend things often takes on a very psychic, intuitive feel. You have an intelligence that is nonlinear and a very sensitive way of talking to others.

  32. Hi Wayman!Thank you very much for this opportunity, your insight is very helpful and enlightening.
Going on the questions, firstly I'm curious to know how much having Saturn and Uranus both in Sagittarius,in my 8th house, square my Venus (Libra in 6th),can influence my relationships.I surely have a fear of closeness and intimacy but I want to know your opinion on it.I must add that right now Saturn is transiting my chart in its natal position.
2nd question: I'm a Scorpio, Scorpio and Pluto dominant so I'm supposed to be all about competitiveness, regeneration and tranformation but this is far from true in my case.I have Mars in Pisces(square Saturn and Uranus, sextile Midheaven) in my 12th house ruled by Pisces in my chart.I know too well the negative aspects of this position.I'm really passive on my life goals,I lack willpower and determination so I'm stuck in the same miserable situation for soo long that I'm losing all my self esteem.I don't know if its Saturn or Mars or a combination of both,I just want and need to move on,to progress and realize myself but I feel caged and blocked, its so frustrating and exausting.I want to know if there is something positive about this aspect and how can I acknowledge and activate my Mars(if there is a way)?
Lastly I have Jupiter in my 1st house (Taurus asc), and I really like this aspect but it's in retrograde in my chart so I'd like to know how it specifically works on my persona.
Thanks a lot and sorry for the long post.

    1. Hey, you're welcome! I'm going to have to keep it quite general, though, as that's a lot of information.

Saturn in the 8th definitely represents a fear of intimacy. Uranus in the mix can make you aloof or detached in this way, while the square to Venus can bring battles with self-esteem. You do not have to settle for this fear, though. Your current Saturn Return is pushing you to overcome them and develop a lack of fear in exploring your psyche, no matter how deep or dark it gets, and finding a way to release it. I'd really recommend reading my Saturn in the 8th House article, from November 2015, to get my in-depth perspective.

A 12th House Mars square Saturn can also result in passivity and frustration, for sure. I think the key to activating your Mars in the 12th is using your aggressive energies for the good of others. You're going to be tormented by your 12th House planets until you can express them selflessly or with a lack of ego. 12th House Mars people are meant to find ways to stay in touch with their passion and desire while using these energies to benefit others. So, that should become your goal.

And a 1st House Jupiter gives you a bigger-than-life persona and presence. I'm assuming Jupiter is also in Taurus? If so, there's something amazingly, wonderfully down-to-earth about you that people pick up on. Jupiter being retrograde only makes it turn inward. It's not a handicap. It's just a reflective influence. So, you can feel adventurous and free without having to have a literal adventure. It's a feeling you carry around, due to the huge boosts of self-esteem (Taurus) you regularly experience.

  33. Do you believe that the moon says a lot about a person's mother? What are your thoughts on a Pisces moon (my daughter) in the 10th house in exact square to her Gemini ascendant?

Secondly, can you please tell me a quick way to decipher if a person has Sagittarius or Capricorn as their ascendant?

    Thanks so much,

    Kasey

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, I definitely do. I think it says a lot about the qualities that she innately feels within you (and that you do actually have) and how she has learned to respond to you, as a result. It's also how you've learned to respond to her because of her responses to you. The Moon is a piece of you and a piece of her.

Now, just what element of her Moon is reflected in you can vary. She can either see you as a compassionate, selfless, intuitive person (Pisces Moon), a very ambitious mother (10th House) or someone with a strong presence (square to Ascendant). I think you should look in your chart to see what it is about you that's being represented by her Moon. If you have strong Neptune/Pisces energy, it's her Pisces Moon. If you have a strong Capricorn/Saturn influence, it's her 10th House Moon. And if you have a significant Aries/1st House influence, it's coming through her Ascendant. In some cases, the child's Moon sign, house, and aspects all represent the mother figure. Sometimes, it's just the sign or house. It can depend.

As for the second question, I always tell people to pay attention to what people say about you when they first meet you or what they later tell you was their first impression of you.

If people usually think you're a big goofball and so funny and so positive to be around, I'd go with Sagittarius Rising. If people initially think you're really serious or wise or have an old-soul quality, I'd go with Capricorn Rising.

    1. You find your higher self by establishing the ability to nurture yourself through spirituality and art. It's about healing your vulnerability through a surrender to the Great Mother. With it being in the late degrees of Cancer, it's an energy that's very eager to express itself confidently. And it's going to do so through your Leo Rising. It will make you more emotional and more sensitive in demeanor, just in a subtle or elusive way.

  36. Thank you so much for this, I absolutely adore your website and I regularly check it in hope of anything new. I wanted to ask what would a Sun conjunct Pluto in Scorpio and Sun conjunct Jupiter in Scorpio entail. Would this make me overtly-Scorpio? Also will you ever make articles on aspects between the non-personal planets like Neptune aspecting Pluto in someone's chart and/or Uranus aspecting Jupiter, Saturn aspecting Uranus etc.?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, you're very Scorpio, especially with the Sun conjunct Pluto in Scorpio. That already doubles your Scorpio Sun, making you more passionate, more complex, more perceptive. But, the Sun conjunct Jupiter aspect makes the Sun's energy larger than life. So, your Scorpio Sun becomes even more intense. It can be highly overwhelming living with that energy, I'm sure, but also amazingly powerful.

I'm also not super-interested in aspects between the outer planets because they're so generational and common. The only one I did was for Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune in Capricorn because it's a unique line-up. I do plan on doing more articles about the outer planets in the different signs, though, and how they affect the generations.

  37. This is very interesting to read. Thank you! I am sag rising, with jupiter in sag in the 12th conjunct Uranus. Jupiter is also the sole dispositor of the chart, using both traditional and modern rulerships. Jupiter and Uranus are square Venus and Mars in Pisces (in 3rd house) and Uranus is also sextile sun in Aquarius (2nd house). I am wondering what you think this position for my chart ruler might mean overall and particular in light of your interpretation that a 12th house chart ruler suggests a need to give up one's ego in a sense.

I also wonder what house system you prefer. I can't remember if you have written about this.

    Thank you again!

    1. Uranus is also sextile moon in libra in the 10th house conjunct mc.

      Delete
    2. Yeah, I think that's interesting. Anyone with their chart ruler in the 12th has to give those things that the planet represents to the world, without demanding or expecting it back. It has to be expressed with that egolessness and it when it is, it puts a "veil" over your Rising sign. It can make it hard for some people to see it very clearly. More so, they "feel" it from you, as you're giving it to them in more subliminal ways.

So, a 12th House Jupiter as the chart ruler means that you have to guide other people toward their freedom and their truth. This will give you that Sag Rising aura as being free and truthful. But, it will be kind of elusive and mysterious because you're not really claiming that energy for "yourself" anymore. I think people with their chart ruler in the 12th start off living like that and, eventually, that persona kind of dissolves and becomes transcended. I think it's a very beautiful influence to have (and I have it myself).

Also, I only use Placidus, aka the standard one. I can't really get behind Equal House.

    3. Thank you very much, Wayman. This makes sense and resonates with me. I get frustrated with house systems in part because I have relocated to a far north latitude at 66 degrees N. I have read various arguments for equal or whole signs in these extreme areas, and I also read one argument that a system like placidus still works in high latitudes simply because life is sort of skewed up there for much of the year. That argument actually makes sense to me but it still makes interpretation difficult. Anyway, that's not a question, just something I am trying to work through.

The second stellium would make his emotional nature, value system, and desires very dependent on order, productivity, and improvement. He has a need to constantly improve and work on things, including himself, and this attitude will bring him joy and passion.

How would you interpret moon in 2nd house opposite saturn in 9th house?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You are deeply set in your ways and get very emotionally attached to what you own and earn. Your moods are usually stable but when they're not, you indulge in spending, hoarding, or maybe eating to compensate.

But, the opposition from Saturn comes in to make you feel like you're being too boring or materialistic. That can actually feel like a weakness, which you can be hard on yourself for, because you feel like it's your job to be an enlightened free spirit (9th House). So, then, you can totally disregard whatever stability or routine you cling to, neglecting your true feelings or needs, in the process.

It's a constant struggle between your need for security and your responsibility to explore your options. You have to find a middle ground by being strong enough to go discover the world while also maintaining a safe nest for yourself when you return.

    1. Thank you!

First off, those aspects will make it very easy for you to feel like you don't belong here. You are playing a role in life that makes you from another world (Neptune) and another planet (Uranus). There is something odd and otherworldly about your behavior. And the retrogrades just mean that this is felt very internally, which can make an outer planet feel more personal. But, your tolerance and compassion shine through and really make people feel accepted.

A retrograde Saturn means that you're really going to have to rely on yourself for this discipline and structure, more than most. With it being in the 2nd, you have to find structure through your resources. 2nd House Saturn people cannot control their money too much or too little. You've got to find the right balance, not being stingy but still being very practical. Nailing this attitude will strengthen your self-esteem because you will see your attitude of responsibility as a very valuable trait.

    1. Hi, thanks for posting. When looking at the Nodes, the thing I care about most is if there are any conjunctions to either the North or South Node. I think other aspects can be influential but a conjunction to either is going to be really powerful and really karmic.

So, to pare your question down, I'm most interested in your Sun conjunct the South Node. It can be so difficult to accept your spiritual path, with this placement, because your comfort zone is who you are as a person. I'm assuming your Gemini Sun is also in the 8th. So, you already know yourself. That's the thing about Sun conjunct South Node. We already know who we are. And you are this smart, witty communicator who lives for going deep.

That's all fine and good. But, pride or self-consciousness are like your worst enemies, as they can bring out the worst in you. So, it's all too easy for you to become manipulative or destructive because you naturally act out the shadow side of your South Node. It's just who you're used to being.

Therefore, you've got to become a bigger person than you thought you were. You have to stretch beyond the self-image you already have, embracing your Sagittarius NN in the 2nd. You have to be truly honest, faithful, and inspired in ways that will keep you stable.

You will always be your Sun sign. So, it's not about "leaving it behind." That'd be impossible. But, you have to transform your Sun and express it as positively as you possibly can. This means focusing on the intelligence and the passion of your 8th House Gemini Sun, in ways that will support your North Node mission. You're going to need your strong self-awareness to make sure you're not slipping back into your old ways. It takes a lot of self-discipline but you can do it!

    1. Haha. Thank you, Ailise! Always great hearing from you.

I don't know what initially drew me to astrology, really. I was never a skeptic. I always believed in it, even when I only knew about Sun signs. But, I just randomly happened to get my birth chart done around the time I was 18. I was browsing Cafe Astrology for info about Leo's and saw that there were different planets in Leo and wanted to know the difference. So, I got my birth chart to find out. That was during my North Node Return in Aquarius. And Aquarius is so connected with astrology. So, I feel like it was fateful, in that sense.

I don't have any mentors. I've really been completely self-taught. I will say that I adore Dana Gerhardt as an astrologer. She's my favorite. Reading her series of articles on Astrodienst years ago was when I started going to a new level of thinking about astrology. She, too, kind of does away with stereotypes and steps outside cliche ways of thinking about the signs/houses/planets. So, I'd say she was a big influence, in that regard. But, I've had no actual mentor relationship.

And I actually begin my birth chart readings with the North and South Node. In the past year or so, I've realized how truly important the Nodes are. I really do think that your issues kind of live or die with the Nodes. If you can embrace your North Node, you live up to your true potential. If you stay stuck in the South Node, you just remain stagnant and really never change or grow. So, that's always my way in.

And yes, I think they can, as long as they're in the same sign and in the same house. So, if the Venus and Saturn in Aquarius are both in the 3rd House but not conjunct, I think they will still effect each other because the combination of energies is exactly the same. They'll still feed off of each other. If they fall into different houses, though, I'd say no.

    1. You're welcome. That's a lot, though, so I'm going to have to be general:

For the first question, you can be very obsessed with intimacy and exploring your dark side and your psychology because it makes you feel free. Diving into your depths shows you how powerful your beliefs, good or bad, are. And this attitude affects how you express your feelings and pursue your life goal and purpose.

Your stellium in the 9th will blend responsibility and freedom. You will see yourself as a free person and really find pleasure and escape in the adventures you embark on. Eventually, they will inspire the life goals of your Aquarius Midheaven, which also aims for a certain freedom of spirit.

Finally, your emotional nature and your higher self are one and the same. So, tending to your needs for organization, good sense, and discipline will put you on the right spiritual path. The exact conjunction shows that this will play out very powerfully in your life.

  47. Hi Wayman! I am so excited you do this. Thank you so much for your time and wonderful insight! :)
What is your view on the 12th house in a synastry chart? I think it is beautiful house but I can't find much on the synastry planets here.
~Person "A" has their 11th H Sun in person "B"'s 12th house. And "B" has their 1st H Mars, Venus, AC, and 12th H Moon in "A"'s 12th House. What would be your general opinion of how these planets are acting? I didn't want to bombard you with all the other aspects.. but if it helps feel free to ask.

Also what is your opinion on the 12th house in a Composite Chart? Thank you again! I hope I didn't ask too much of you.. :)

    1. Hello and you're welcome! I think the 12th House, in a synastry chart, can show that one person knows the other person's secrets or somehow has a deep understanding of their inner life. Maybe there will be times where the two people are isolated together and it feels like they've escaped the world. There can also be confusion, regarding just who is expressing what trait, as one can project it on to the other. When the placements are occurring with both people, that bond becomes even stronger. Bad boundaries, guilt, and feelings of victimization may also take over, though, if not careful.

It's pretty much the same thing in a composite chart, except that it more so defines the relationship between them instead of how one sees the other.

  48. Hi Wayman, I've really enjoyed all your articles on aspects. You write about them in such a positive and uniquely informative way - particularly about squares and oppositions which most people are so negative about!

Would you be able to give me any insight on Pluto (Scorpio 4th) square Saturn (Aquarius 6th conjucnt descendant)?

I have Neptune conjunct Uranus intercepted in Capricorn in the 5th house (along with my moon). How would you describe this blend of energy?

Also do you think that having the same sign on the 12th and 1st house cusp works in a similar way to the article you wrote on the ascendant ruler in the 12th? I have a Leo rising, as well as Leo on my 12th house cusp (with my sun in the 8th)

    1. Hi, Evelyn! I think Pluto square Saturn comes with major control issues and this fear of exploring one's shadows. The thing you're trying to control on the outside can be what you're trying to control on the inside. The more you learn what to do with your dark side, channeling it and using it creatively, the stronger and less scared you'll feel.

The 5th House stellium will make you spontaneous and creative in very imaginative, offbeat, intuitive ways. You will always want your creativity to have a serious purpose, as well as anything else fun, including dating. But, since they're intercepted, you can be unconscious of this and act out in ways that are much more serious than you intend, making you seem deluded, strange, or loony. So, you have to become consciously aware of how seriously you take the fun stuff and learn to find a balance of not being too serious about it.

And yes, I think that it can be similar. You cannot express your Leo energy in an ego-driven way. Instead, you have to find internal, spiritual, solitary, or imaginary ways to play the superstar role, while selflessly making other people feel like superstars in real life or in the everyday world.

    1. You really want to shine like a star via your career. You should choose something that gives you reign to really express yourself or lead other people. You will do so in fair, charming, thoughtful ways. You are a strong presence out in the public and people will see you as having a lot of personality as well as star quality and charisma.

Most of my friends are into substances like alcohol smoking and drug's ,I drink and smoke myself but never drugs yet they are very creative artistic and sensitive could this be because I have Pisces on my 11th house cusp I have no planets in my 11th house most of my friends are of a neptunian nature

    1. That may be the source of it. But, the 11th House is not the domain of your close friends. It's the people who you're cool with socially, like hanging with them at a bar or doing things with them in the community, but not very close or attached to. So, if those are the kind of friends you mean, I'd say your Pisces in the 11th describes them. Otherwise, as far as bosom buddies, you would look more so to your 7th House.

  51. Hey Wayman thank you for the best blog, I am new to astrology, and so far I have learned alot by reading your blog. I would really like to know what it means to have Venus as my chart ruler in the 8th house, my ascendant is in libra, and moon trine Venus, and Venus trine ascendant. Pluto in the 1st house :) (Mars is in the 7th house, don't know if that has anything to say)
    - and what does it mean to have my sun, Jupiter and mercury is in my 9th house. Thank you - don't know if it's too much to ask for :)

    1. Hey, that's great! Generally speaking, for the first question, I'd say that you are a very charming, sensitive, and attractive person. Yet, the thing that draws other people to you is a mystery. You kind of cast a spell on others through this charm and charisma. You can be super-sweet yet can cut anyone off who you figure out is insincere or doesn't respect you.

The stellium in the 9th means that you see yourself as a free person and you are very stimulated and inspired by anything that feels like an adventure. You have very strong beliefs and convictions, sometimes to a self-righteous degree, yet your faith allows you to always find your way, whenever you're feeling "lost" in life.

  52. Hi Wayman,
My question to you, the astrology wizard :):

One astrologer has said ones, if the planets are in the element that form a trine, even if the signs are not in a degree of the trine, the combination of energy involved between planatery signs is similar as it was an actual trine. The same for the squares. I hope i was clear enough. If not her eis an example:

Let's say i have Venus in Cancer 1 degree and Mars in Pisces 15 degree. According to this astrologer the manifestation would not be as actual trine, but because it's in he same element the flow of the energy is similar to a trine. What do you think? Thank you.

    1. Hmmm. I don't know if I would totally agree with that, especially when it comes to squares that aren't actual squares by aspect. I do think that compatible signs can work together well in a chart. But, I don't think it will be felt the same as if it's a trine. I can see what they're talking about, though.

  54. Wayman, i am curious, if you have noticed in your practice some examples when some signs are 'dramatically' can not get along?
I do believe that people can get along no matter what the signs are. And sure, i do realize, we have to take the whole chart in consideration and the personal awareness of the people involved plays a huge part.
Still, as objective and allowing i am to others for who they are i have noticed some interesting patterns.
My Sun, Moon and Ascendant are all in Taurus. I have noticed i have "dramatic" misunderstandings with people with strong Aquarius, Leo and Scorpio placements, especially if their Sun signs are Scorpio or Aquarius. And Leo placement does not work at all anywhere at any planet. Everybody i had good understanding with did not have any Aquarius placement or Leo. Generally speaking Scorpios and Aquarius just too much for me,Scorpios are too intimidating and Aquarius are too erratic to my liking. I am too timid and too humble for Leo's. I am getting physically tired in the presence of this signs. Am i experiencing this kind of interaction because of too much Taurus in me? Or i just must and can accept, that some signs just does not match? Any experience on that part? Sometimes i see it as quite mysterious something...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well, as a Leo Sun/Scorpio Moon/Aquarius North Node, thanks for saying that you could never get along with me! Haha, no, I'm kidding. But, yes, I think of all the signs in a certain Quality (Fixed, Mutable, or Cardinal), the Fixed signs - Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius - may have the most potential for clashing.

They're all very stubborn energies. Taurus is stubborn when it comes to their likes/dislikes, Leo is stubborn in terms of pride and self-expression, Scorpio is stubborn about feelings and bonds, Aquarius is stubborn about ideas and concepts.

But, of course, there are evolved and unevolved members of every sign. I think people with these energies strong in their chart will always be innately stubborn. But, that quality can be managed, so it doesn't harm their relationships. Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius all eventually have to realize when it's good to not budge (because stubbornness can be very admirable and helpful, in certain situations) and when it's damaging and unnecessary. Many of us with these signs prominent in our chart can learn the difference.

All that being said, nothing stops anyone from getting along astrologically. It's all about the person and how developed and self-aware they are.

    2. My appreciation to you for your reply.

I know you have a lot of fixed signs in you, that's was the main point why i have asked you that question :)

I have learned again from your reply:

That fixed signs are stubborn and have the most potential for clashing,- for me it's kind of new reference point of my own awareness to own a little bit more of the quality of Neutrality and Humility in relationships with other fixed signs.I think i am may be too intense in my feelings sometimes. And yeah, take another Aquarius rebellion or emotional Scorpio or exalted Leo and Taurus intensity ....Kaboom, we are clashed.

      Thank's

  55. Hello, thank you for doing this! You're amazing! First, an off topic question: how long have you studied astrology? How long would you recommend a student to do so? And now, for my question: What is your view on solar return saturn in Sagittarius in the 8th house? I know I read somewhere on your blog that you don't use them. But I'm curious if solar returns really tell us something about our year. I'm currently in my Saturn return right now 29 years old. Natally saturn is in sag 11th house! Should I be scared of a restrictions in resources. I am currently in child support court with my son's dad. Overall, what do you suggest this postion mean? Should I discard this. I'm really concerned. Thank you!

    Replies
    1. I wouldn't think in terms of resources because it's the 11th House. The 11th House is about the unexpected. Saturn in the 11th, I think, brings very abrupt difficulties or challenges in a person's life (like this situation, possibly). Your lesson is to stop resisting hard times. The more you try to be in control and make everything alright, the crazier and more difficult your life will get.

So, if you just go with the craziness that's happening now, you'll find yourself feeling stronger and more efficient. You're also in luck because the next article I plan on writing is about Saturn in the 11th! :) I'll be posting it tomorrow, most likely, or the next day. So, hopefully, you can read that and get a more detailed answer, helping you through your Return.

I'm honestly not knowledgeable enough about Solar Returns! That's next on my list of things to study more. And I've been studying astrology for eight years now. I don't know how long to recommend studying it. I just think you have to keep at it and utilize all the resources you have: websites, books, message boards with people. That's how I learned. But, like anything, your understanding just becomes more refined with time.

  56. Hi wayman,

My final question is what would having jupiter in virgo in
the 4th house indicate as far as luck and expansion are concerned?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You might move around a ton. Home is truly where the heart is for you and you can easily feel like the grass is greener elsewhere because your current home doesn't match your standards. The family situation can often be very wonderful with a 4th House Jupiter. If not, you can create your own very happy family, healing a lot of the wounds, and/or find lovely surrogate families.

I don't think of Jupiter too much in terms of literal luck. But, you might be that person who always manages to land a comfortable place for decently priced rent or mortgage. More so, you are rooted in this very philosophical, adventurous attitude. So, whatever happens out in the world, you always have that optimism to come back home to and you work very hard (Virgo) on maintaining that attitude.

Hope you've enjoyed your Jupiter Return!

  57. I have both Uranus and Saturn in Sagittarius in the 9th house and the stuff I've read about these placements make it sound like they're the exact opposite of each other. So how does it work having both of them? Do they create a balance?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, I do. I think Saturn in the 9th House people can struggle to feel free and adventurous. But, it's their duty in life to. Yet, Uranus in the 9th House sends you off on all sorts of crazy adventures. In the end, you are quite a "wild child" yet you are learning how to live in the wilderness with an attitude of responsibility, if that makes sense. A 9th House Sagittarius Saturn is definitely about seeing freedom as your purpose. Uranus speeds up that process.

      Happy Saturn Return! :)

  58. Hello Wayman,

I wanted to ask my question before the deadline tonight.

I had a question regarding the 7th house and/or descendent.

I have Virgo Rising but it's at like 21.47 degrees.
That puts most of my 1st house in Libra, and most of my 7th house in Aries.

Though I'm quite capable of being very empathetic, the older I get, I've noticed I can be quite aggressive and argumentative.

Should I take into account both Pisces, and Aries, when it concerns my 7th house?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hey. You're making it just in time! Unless there are planets in the 7th House in Aries, I wouldn't really think about it. I think people should only think like that if they have, say, a Pisces Descendant and then an Aries Venus in the 7th.

Otherwise, just look at the sign on the 7th House cusp. However, pay attention to transits, too, in the sign of Aries. I'm willing to bet that Uranus in Aries is in your 7th House now. So, that could be bringing out your aggressive side in relationships.

  60. Hi Wayman,

With my north node in Leo in the 10th house calling me to "shine in public like a true star," how do I know if I'm being an egomaniac if my sun is opposed Neptune and my Saturn is square Neptune--not seeing myself or reality clearly at times?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You don't exactly have to worry about being an egomaniac because you're dealing with the North Node in Leo, not the South Node. The expression of the North Node in a sign is usually a very positive, evolved, balanced expression of that sign.

But, having the Sun opposite Neptune doesn't give you the clearest sense of self. People with harsh Sun/Neptune placements can be very self-absorbed without realizing it, all while seeing themselves as the victim or the martyr. I think selfishness, with this placement, comes from feeling like no one cares and that you are so selfless. Your actions can be more self-serving than you realize.

But, if you just develop conscious awareness of that, it's an aspect that can be expressed beautifully.

  61. Thank you wayman! Your interpretations are very insightful and helpful. I think it's so great that you find time to actually personalize your astrological interpretations. So i thank you! And i actually didn't know that my jupiter return was happening. Lol if you don't mind, i actually have one more question in regard to my venus in libra in 5th house. I find that in regard to my love life, i always seem to get taken advantage of and overlooked. What would venus in libra in 5th house say about my relationships?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thanks. Yeah, I don't know what degree your Jupiter is at. Jupiter's at 20 degrees Virgo now. But, if it's still in your 4th House, at least, you're still feeling it.

In general, I'd say a Libra Venus in the 5th would make you totally flirtatious and in love with love. You're a total romantic. Living in the moment, for you, just means being full of love. You express your affection and kindness very spontaneously and you're highly creative.

The getting taken advantage of thing could be a Venus-Neptune issue. If you're in your 20's, you have Neptune in Capricorn and it might be square your Libra Venus. This could be your essential issue, especially with Neptune, the planet of dissolved boundaries, being in either the 8th (intimacy) or the 7th (committed relationships). But, if that's not the case, something else is going on.

    2. Whoa! Actually now that you mention it, i totally do have venus square neptune in my 8th house!
