A Surprise Announcement

Hey, everyone! I have a surprise announcement. Well, two announcements, actually. The first is that I did and uploaded my very first video today. And I’m going to start doing videos for special occasions, maybe around once a month. That way, you’re not just getting writing from me and we have a different way to connect. Watching myself on video always drives home what a weirdo I am. But, whatever. I like my weird self and I like being on camera. So, it’ll be a nice change of pace and give me a way to teach you guys things or talk to you without having to write it all out literally all the time.

Also, I’m doing an e-book on the Descendant! I’m selling it on the blog and it’ll be available sometime soon. But, I talk more about that in the video. Anyways, I look forward to making this a recurring thing. And feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel. Good day!

  1. Awesome!! I wish you good luck on this new little adventure you're embarking on! Btw, I definitely agree that information about the descendant, whether it's the sign on it or the planets it conjuncts, is rarely ever talked about so I think you're doing a great service going more in-depth about it in your e-book.
Also, I'm subscribing for sure! Can't wait for the second video. It's nice to see you in person. Well not literally, but you know what I mean lol. Anyway, again, good luck to you! :)

    1. Haha yes I know what you mean. Thank you! :)

  2. Hey, congrats! This is definitely a great direction for you. You look good on camera and you have a nice, relaxing voice as well :D it's easy to listen to you, hehehe!

If you don't mind me giving you an idea, you should do some short videos about planet aspects. The ones on Youtube are long winded with loads of 'errrrr' and 'ummmms' because they seem to be doing it on the fly, but you've already got that sorted out since you covered quite a lot of planets. You can just give a brief summary, then redirect them back to the blog for the extended explanations.

Anyway, great to see you and good luck with your book!

    1. Oh thanks! And I am not sure what I'll talk about in these videos yet. I definitely don't want to repeat myself and will still be doing most things through writing. So we'll just have to see! But your idea isn't bad either.

  3. You've got a nice set of choppers there!

I know this has nothing to do w/ astrology, more like Meyers-Briggs: Are you an ENTP/ENFP?

    1. Yes I'm an ENFP! It's either really obvious or you are really good at Myers Briggs.

    2. Oh, cool, me too. When I read the description, I thought it was funny how much it sounds like a mixture of my dominants, Sun, Uranus and Pluto (respectively Leo, Aquarius and Scorpio). So not much of a surprise there when I think of your placements. :)

    3. Oh, nice. Yes, ENFP's are called the most introverted extroverts. We love people and love being alone equally and we're full of contradictions. So, that definitely sounds like Aquarius energy.

    4. You can say that. :) I did the test a number of times through the years, and verged back and forth between INFP and ENFP, depending on my mood at that moment. Before I was in therapy because of depression, I usually got INFP - when my Saturn in 12th house had a stronger effect on me. Now it's a pretty stable 52% Extroverted vs 48% Introverted, talking about introverted extroverts, hehe.

I like how it all lines up by now - the feedback from my therapist and how other people see me, what I know about myself, astrology, numerology, this personality test... How is it for you? You preparing for your Saturn return and the tuning of your own chart should have a similar effect, hasn't it?

Anyway, the results used to be all over the place, because there was that constant war between my sunny, and extroverted side and the one who retreated from people because I was afraid of criticism and rejection... and wasn't yet self-aware. I didn't even find myself in some of your interpretations about aspects, especially the ones with Mars and Pluto, because I subconsciously didn't dare to be assertive and intense. As if all of my 16 aspects where strong squares, not just two of them.
Now I'm just like: "Yep, that's me." Gotta thank you for that once more - reading your posts is a bit like a To Do-list for me, as I can easily see at what point in my personal development I'm now, and what I want to achieve. Which, in one word, would be serenity. Maybe I should get that "Firefly"- tattoo after all. :)

P.S.: The video is cool, and you're comparatively easy to understand and nice to listen to. Soothing, like. If you did an audio book, I'd let it soothe me to sleep. :) But I don't catch all of it without captions. Listening comprehension can be hard if you've never lived in an English speaking country. So I hope you continue writing down your interpretations, too. (Not to mention that I personally don't have the patience to actually listen, if I can read 3times as fast. :P)

    5. Same. My extroversion only outweighs my introversion by about 5 percent or something. So, I'm not dramatically one or the other. It's also very common for people's MB types to change over time. It's because that test is so subjective and all based on questions you answer about yourself based on your own self-awareness, which extends to what you were talking about. So, people can kind of get themselves "wrong" earlier in life. Either that or they just evolve into who they really are. But, it often takes until the mid to late 20's to take that test and get the type that is truly you. I actually used to get ENFJ years ago. But, ENFP feels like a better fit for who I really am.

It's funny that people keep telling me I'm relaxing and easy to listen to and have a nice voice. I guess that's the effect of having Venus sextile Midheaven, as it is similar to a Taurus Midheaven, making that how people see me when I do something public. Because I don't really hear that so much in my everyday life. I can be kind of a whirlwind but I am also very chill and low-key, too, which is Aquarius Rising in a nutshell.

Also, I had no idea English wasn't your first language! You sound and write like a native, fluent speaker. It may not be just you, either, because I talk pretty fast. :)

    6. ENFP here too! I like your description the most introverted extrovert. So true! @nadine you really do understand me! =D

    7. @Clover: Thank you, that's good to hear. I guess you're referring to the comments in the Venus- post, don't you? You know, this not-being-real-good-at-comforting-others reminds me of that one episode of The Big Bang Theory, when Sheldon has to get Penny to the hospital. "There, there." :P Gotta practice that phrase, hehe.
Did you have a look at your aspects? I'm kinda curious, especially now.

@Wayman: Oh, cool, thanks! Native German here, but I guess it helps that I spend so much time reading in English. :) Internet for the win! This is really good news, because I'd like to have a blog, but I don't want to do it in German - a lot of terms just sound weird to me. Awkward. Especially when it comes to spiritual terms and psychology, German makes me sound like an aging hippie. And it WOULD be some kind of self-help blog, probably some weird hybrid between astrology and psychology. Gotta work on Pluto's and Uranus' reputation, heh. It DOES make me feel rather presumptuous to say that I think I could actually provide quality content in that regard, but then again, almost everything in my chart points in this direction: providing a practical way to deal with spiritual and emotional matters. My North Node in Virgo in the 12th house conjunct Saturn sure would like that... and I guess my Mars in 9th house in Gemini would have a lot of fun, too. :P
Got Jupiter in my 11th house and Uranus in my 2nd, though, so I know better than to make definite plans. :P (Can't wait for that Uranus post from you.)

I got my Venus conjunct the MC, and often observed the same effect. Or rather, my bosses did. I was usually the one they wanted to take orders at the Drive In/on the phone. Got a fair number of spontaneous compliments about my voice from customers, too. Good thing people like to listen, because I barely ever stop talking. (Or typing, huh. Wished I could use the Venus-effect there, too.) It's also a very practical when it comes to calming down pets and little children - or anyone who has no idea what you're actually saying, but just reacts to your voice.

Is there a way to distinguish between a Libra-Venus- effect and a Taurus-Venus-effect? Does it matter? On the one hand, I think it might just be a matter of context and methods. So, both. As the voice is physical, it's Taurus, but the effect would be what a Libra wants, like, people being more susceptible to your side of the argument ("yes, the new burger is delicious - you should totally get it"). Gosh, that sounds awfully manipulative, but you know what I mean, don't you?
On the other hand, it also might be that the general effect of your Venus is determined by its sign, the sign of your MC and how airy or earthy you are generally. I mean, because you got your Venus in Virgo and got lots of other planets in Virgo and Capricorn, expressing the Taurean side of Venus would be more natural for you: solid and comforting. However, I got my Libra Asc and only Saturn in an Earth sign, so my keywords would be something like "kind and fair" in this regard. Definitely not solid. I guess.

Argh, here I go and write a whole essay again. Anyway, you're absolutely right, age and self-awareness play a crucial role in MB tests. And ENFJ definitely sounds... younger in comparision to ENFP. Bit like the progression from a teen who thinks he got life all figured out, a strong believer, to an adult who made the experience that there are lots of grey zones. :)

P.S.: Looking forward to your book on the descendant!

  4. Haha for some reason i thought u were a girl this whole time. I hope you dont stop writing bc youre a rly great and knowledgeable writer! Somehow all those youtube channels on astrology sometimes doesnt cut it. Thanks for sharing all your info and knowledge.

First time leaving a comment... scared as shit for Saturn in Cap as someone who had 5 planets in Cap in the 8th house and it being my first saturn return. Hopefully Saturn is good to me after the last 27 years was dealing with other ppls shit

    1. Hey, thanks for commenting! And that is pretty funny, not gonna lie. Most astrologers are on YouTube nowadays and have videos out there. So, I think I was just creating some Scorpio MC mystery for myself by hiding behind just writing for a long time and not having people seeing what I'm actually like. But, I'm loving the idea and feeling of doing that now.

But, yes, I'm not going to stop writing. It's still going to be my primary way of talking about astrology. These videos will just be occasional and whenever I'm inspired to actually talk about something, instead of just writing it.

Also, yay for our first Saturn Returns coming up (or not, haha)! Saturn in a Water House is some really scary shit, in general, especially in the 8th and the 12th. But, if you prepare yourself to face your fears and your doubts head-on, I think that your Saturn Return will be a time that really deeply transforms you for the better.

I was wondering if u could talk about how you got into astrology and how you know so deeply and intricately as you do at such a young age (like do you interview peoples life stories?)

Yay for our saturn returns hahaha supposedly saturn likes being in Cap so hopefully this brings good rewards for our hard work.

  7. You're cute. I can really pick up on your Aquarius ascendant.

  8. I know this is a little off topic, but I was wondering if you've written anything about the signs (or placements) that correlate to polyamory?

  9. Hi. I am from Peru. I like to read your blog. I learn a lot. But can your videos have some subtitles? I am hard of hearing. I'd like to keep learning from you.

  10. Adding my bit to the chorus of "You have such a great voice, Wayman!"

I've subbed and look forward to your future videos. :) I'd love to hear about the subtleties between planet in a house vs planet in a sign. A lot of the available information, especially about the outer planets, just gives both: Pluto in Capricorn/10th house etc. One of the reasons I like your blog so much is you separate them out and go into detail. (And your North Node posts are eerily accurate.)

About the production values -- I could understand you fine, but when you move your head (which is so expressive) your camera couldn't keep up and the effect made me kind of dizzy. Maybe more light would help? Laptop cameras usually have very small sensors and struggle even in normal lighting.
